It all started with a water pump. That was the beginning of our path, and from there, we have not stopped moving forward.

Ours is a story of change and adaptation, always under the same premise: listening to our clients and supplying them with the product that best suits their projects.

1974

Water marks the beginning of everything
Rafael Sabaté founded Hidro Tarraco with a clear vision: to provide comprehensive services for water supply in the hydraulic sector.
The first store was located on Jaume I street in Tarragona, consolidating the beginning of the company in the heart of the city.
1980

We created our industry department
With the arrival of Benedicte Piqué, we gave life to the industry department at Hidro Tarraco.
This department has been key in our relationships with water companies, provincial industries and government entities.
1981

An innovation that changed everything
Our founder, Rafael Sabaté, introduced polyethylene to the industry in the province of Tarragona.
His pioneering vision not only modernized our water facilities, but also ensured the health and safety of our community by replacing outdated lead pipes.
This step laid the foundation for our dedication to innovation and continuous improvement in water delivery.
1982

We make ourselves known
Hidrotarraco takes a significant step by participating in its first sector fair at Expro Reus.
This milestone represents the commitment to visibility and connection in the province's industry.
1984

The beginning of our expansion
We inaugurated our second branch in Vendrell. A milestone that not only expands our presence, but also underscores our commitment to growth and expansion.
This step reflects our constant search to improve and provide an even closer and more efficient service to our clients.
1986

A year with a lot of history
We inaugurate our delegation in Reus. A new meeting point with our clients, full of opportunities and possibilities to continue growing together.
We joined the prestigious purchasing group TERMOCLUB as a partner, consolidating our position and collaborating closely with other leaders in the sector to offer the best products and services to our customers.
With the arrival of Jose Maria Vilanova, we created the building department. Until now, we focused exclusively on the supply of cold water, but with this addition, we expanded our services to include hot water and heating, thus satisfying the needs of our clients in a more comprehensive and effective way.
1988

SIRHSA is born
We identify the need to offer hydraulic repairs. Initially, we performed these repairs in our own facilities.
However, in 1988 we took a big step by establishing a parallel entity for this purpose: SIRHSA.
This decision demonstrated our continued commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction, values that remain fundamental to our business philosophy today.
1989

We continue to expand
We celebrate a new achievement with the opening of our delegation in Valls.
This significant step expands our local presence and brings us even closer to our customers in the region.
1992

We move to the Riu Clar industrial estate
We moved our central offices, warehouse and logistics to the Riu Clar industrial estate.
This strategic change allows us to optimize our operations and provide even more efficient service to our customers.
1996

The time has come for the new generation
David Sabaté became manager, marking the transition to the second generation of leadership at Hidro Tarraco.
Son of the founder, Rafael Sabaté, David has been involved in the company since its inception, holding various roles before assuming management.
His promotion reflects not only an evolution in leadership, but also a deep connection to the company's history and legacy.
1999

Movement makes us better
The first store opened in 1974 and moved from Calle Jaume I to Calle Torres Jordi, 14, in Tarragona.
This move marked a new chapter in our history, maintaining our presence in the heart of the city to continue serving our customers with the best service and product.
2004

We go even further
We inaugurated our furthest delegation to date, located in the Alt Penedés region, in Vilafranca del Penedès, province of Barcelona.
2006

We certify the quality of our service
We obtain ISO 9001 certification, highlighting our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

2014

We arrive at the province of Lleida
We inaugurated our first delegation in the province of Lérida, specifically in the Segrià region. This strategic move demonstrates our commitment to proximity and attention to different regions.
To make this project a reality, we began the management of the premises by acquiring the company Soldevila, which was the first owner of the place and operated in the same sector.
This integration allowed us to establish a solid presence in the area, and enrich our experience and knowledge in the local market.
2017

We reinvent ourselves
We began an important transformation with the renovation of our central offices.
This space becomes the epicenter of technical and logistical advice, adapting to new technologies and needs derived from the growth of our team.
With this renovation we reaffirm our commitment to excellence by providing a modern and functional environment.
2023

Sustainable mobility
In line with our sustainable commitment, we acquired two 100% electric cars for the use of the company's staff. Currently, we continue working to progressively incorporate more vehicles.
